Privacy Policy

Privacy policies. They’re long, cumbersome, hard to read, and are generally ignored by the public at large. But, we’ve gotta have it, and since you’re here, we at the Marquette Technology Institute (MTI) want to be as transparent as possible regarding the information collected by this website (http://www.marquettetechinstitute.org/). So, let’s get through this as quickly and plainly as possible, shall we?

Contact Form

There’s a contact form at the bottom of the MTI website homepage where users can submit the following:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Classification (Youth, adult, or tech professional)
  • A message

MTI will use the name, email address, and classification provided to respond to any questions or comments left in the message. If we’re feeling conscientious and our memory is good, we may also send other resources to the email address provided, if we think the resources would be helpful or otherwise worthwhile to a particular party. However, this is the extent to which this information will be used, and it will not be shared with any other parties without the expressed consent of the information provider.

Google Analytics

The MTI website uses Google Analytics to collect tracking and reporting information on our website traffic. This information is used solely to analyze from where and when the website receives traffic, and how we can adjust our marketing efforts to improve traffic. No personally identifiable information is collected by Google Analytics, and this information will not be shared with any other parties. However, if you do not wish for your data to be used by Google Analytics, we recommend using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Wufoo

MTI uses Wufoo to collect applications for the Code Labs One 20-week computer programming course. The form collects basic demographic information (e.g. name, address, date of birth, etc.), asks a few questions about the user’s previous experience, and the user’s reasons for taking the class. We do not share or sell any information with third-parties, except with grant agencies for reporting purposes so we can continue funding programs like these.

Eventbrite

MTI uses Eventbrite to collect registrations for Youth Coding Camps and other youth coding activities. The following information is collected as part of the registration:

  • Ticket Buyer contact, payment, and billing information
  • Attendee name, gender, age, and t-shirt size

Eventbrite will share this information with MTI per the terms of their service and privacy policy. Once received from Eventbrite, MTI uses this information to plan appropriately for youth coding activities, and will not share this information with any other parties without the expressed consent of the information provider.
